Reasons why co-workers are good prospects for your MLM Business.

1. You already have a good working relationship with them

If you have worked in your job for years now, you probably have had a good relationship with your co-workers. You probably know if they are good employees as well. If you work well with them, then it won’t be too hard to work with them on your MLM Business.

2.  You can set up a meeting with them easily.

Setting a meeting with your co-workers can be done easily especially after work hours because you see them everyday. You won’t have to talk to them over the phone. Instead, you can invite them over for dinner after your work and have a meeting face to face. A face to face conversation is always better than a phone call. You get to see their facial expression and body language. You’ll know if they are really interested or not. Inviting your co-worker is also easier because both of you won’t have to go out of your ways just to meet.

3.  You know their needs because you know them personally.

Not only do you know how well they work in your office, you probably know them personally as well as their problems. It would be easier for you to identify their needs because you have developed a personal relationship with them.

Reasons why they are a challenge to invite to your business.

Although co-workers are good prospects for you MLM business, they are very challenging to invite.

1.  Conflict of interest in the workplace
Many offices do not allow these kind of activities. Doing your MLM Business in the workplace can actually get you suspended from your job or worse, it can get you fired. So make sure to test the waters first. Review your company’s rules and policies. If you are going to do your MLM business in the workplace, make sure to do it after work hours. You may even do it on your off days and just invite your co-workers for dinner.

2.  They know you too well.
They know how you work and your personality. If you are the type of person who does not take their jobs seriously, who always come in late, accomplishes your work late, and have always had trouble with your boss, then you will have a hard time inviting your co-workers because they know you too well. They will most likely not believe your offer because they think you are not serious about it.

3.  Negative co-workers may have already warned your prospects that you are inviting your co-workers in your MLM Business.
They have a saying, “One rotten apple can spoil the whole bunch.” This is very true in the MLM Industry. When one person speaks negatively about the business, the other people around him will also think negatively about the business. Most people will believe a negative comment or review rather than a positive one. The worst part, once they have developed a negative perception, it’s very difficult to enlighten them again. However, don’t stop inviting your other co-workers. There are still some of them who will remain open-minded and who may need your help. You’ll never know, this might be the opportunity they are waiting for.

4.  Usual objections: No time, anti-MLM, not interested.
The usual objections are very common regardless of who and where you invite.
In the trainings we provide in the Hybrid Innovative Marketing System (HIMS), we teach our members how to answer 30 most common MLM objections.

To invite your co-workers, here are some scripts. You may use this scripts as a guide and you may edit these scripts depending on your situation.

I have provided an English and Filipino version of the scripts.

English Script #1: Prospect is your Boss.
If you are trying to invite your boss, make sure that you indicate that you are doing this project on your off days. When you talk to your boss, do it after work hours to show him that this project does not affect your current job. We don’t want to lose your current job on your invitation process. Well, not until you are earning more than your salary.

You: “Sir [boss’s name], Can I speak with you?”
Boss: Yes sure, what is it about?
You: Sir, I know your busy so I’m going to go straight to the point. You are one of the successful people I know and one of the reasons why you have been successful is because you are open-minded to new opportunities. I look up to you and that’s why I am contacting you.

I have this new project during my off days with other professionals and we’re expanding our project to this area and now I’ve been assigned to look for people who are smart with good business skills.. and I immediately thought about you.

I’m working with this doctor, Dr. Lloyd Labso and he would like to speak to you. Can you take a quick 2 minute 3-way phone call?

Boss: “What is this project about?”
You: “We are part of this start-up company in the health industry based in Manila. We provide trainings and for a successful person like yourself, you can easily earn up to Php 100,000 a month. But, it is not my job to tell you what it is about. You have to talk to Dr. Labso. He can give you all the details and answer all your questions. I’m just here to find successful people like you.
Can you take the quick 2 minute phone call or visit his website?

Sell the meeting, not the business.

If he says No, always get a referral. Usually successful persons are supportive and are willing to help you.
You: Can you refer me to someone who may be interested?

Use the website for follow-up:
You: “In case you change your mind, you may visit our website at lloydlabso.com”

Script #2: Prospect is your Co-worker who’s on the same level as you.

Co-Worker who’s on the same position as you are often the toughest people to invite.  It is very important to use a 3rd party validation such as an Upline.

You: “Hey [name], how are you? How’s [family, friends, health, personal life etc.]” (Talk to him like the way you normally would.)
Co-worker: (Answers your questions and tells you stories of his personal life)

Transition by saying:
You: You know I’m just as busy as you are so I’m going to go straight to the point. I am so excited about this new project I’m doing on my off days with other professionals. You have to take a look. I’m with this doctor, Dr. Lloyd Labso and we’re expanding our project to this area and I’m helping him find people I trust and will benefit from this project financially. Can you do me a favor and take a quick 2 minute phone call from him or visit his website?

Co-worker: “What is it about?’
You: We are part of a start-up company based in Manila. We are in the health industry. We provide trainings and for a person like you, you can easily earn up to Php 100,000 a month. But, it is not my job to tell you what it’s about. You have to talk to Dr. Labso. He can give you all the details and answer all your questions. I’m just here to find people i trust who I think will benefit from this financially. Can you take the quick 2 minute phone call?

Co-worker: “I’ll think about it.”

If they offer some resistance, use this line

You:  “[name] , just do me this favor and take this quick phone call? My task is to set up a quick 2 minute phone call with Dr. Labso and I really want to impress him and show him that I am committed to this project. Just take this quick 2 minute phone call for me?”

Note: Sell the meeting and not the business.

If they still offer resistance.
You:  “Alright, you are probably not the person we’re looking for, but thank you for your time.
By the way, do you know anybody who might be interested in doing this project with us?”

Use the website for follow-up:
You: “In case you change your mind, you may visit our website at lloydlabso.com” or give him your website.

Filipino Script #1: Prospect ay si Boss.
You: “Sir [boss’s name], Pwede po ba kayo makausap?”

May bago kasi akong project during weekends kasama ibang mga professionals and nageexpand kami dito sa area natin.

Boss: “Anong project ba ‘yan?”
You: “Mayroon kaming start-up company na nkaBase sa Manila.

Note: Sell the meeting, not the business.

Use the website for follow-up:
You: “Kung sakaling magbago isip niyo sir, pwede niyo po tingnan yung website namin. lloydlabso.com” or give him your website.

You: “Friend, kumusta? Kumusta [family, friends, health, personal life etc.]” (Small talk muna kayo about your personal lives)
Co-worker: (Kwentuhan muna kayo tungkol sa buhay buhay)

Transition by saying:

If they offer some resistance, use this line

You: “Sige na [name].

Note: Sell the meeting and not the business.

Use the website for follow-up:
You: “Kung sakaling magbago isip mo, pwede mo tingnan yung website namin. lloydlabso.com”
